Show Synopsis'Redruth Amateur Operatic Society Trust (RAOST) celebrates its centenary year in 2009. In those one hundred years it will have performed Carousel just 4 times. The first was in 1965 when the stage plays and the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein first appeared on our Cinema screens, stimulating local societies such as RAOST to change from the usual format of Gilbert & Sullivan into 'taking a risk' with these new more lively modern shows. This 'taking a risk' is something RAOST are successfully renowned for. In 1982 came the second time around for RAOST and as before was performed in their home town of Redruth and the Regal theatre. However during 1994 RAOST found themselves somewhat displaced from their usual venue and ended up at found themselves performing Carousel for the third time in the old City Hall (now the Hall For Cornwall) in Truro. Now RAOST will be performing Carousel for the fourth time in its 100 years of treading the board walks now at the refurbished City Hall that is the Hall for Cornwall. Inviting audiences to join them on the carousel ride of love, humour, happiness, loss, despair and hope with such wonderful memorable songs as 'You'll Never Walk Alone', 'June Is Bustin' Out All Over', 'Blow High, Blow Low', 'Clambake', 'Soliloquy' and 'What's The Use Of Wonderin'
Times - 24th - 28th June at 7.30pm.
